Barbara is an avid fan of local sports but is most ardent in her support of the Thunderbirds and Sounders. She keeps a photo of her with the entire Sounders team prominently displayed on her desk and will occasionally slide it to the right for a brief glimpse at her family photos behind it, if the mood strikes her. Yet this prominent desk placement belies the important role Barbara’s family plays in her life; she is mother, mother-in-law and grandmother to two sons, their wives and three grandsons, all of whom live within ten minutes of her. When not attending their soccer games (they seem to share her passion for athletics), they can be found camping and hiking together, hunting for waterfalls or tearing around on their quads. As Agency Manager for Vinoble’s Group Benefits and Insurance Department (formerly Ethix Insurance Group), Barbara helps businesses navigate the healthcare industry, crafting unique solutions that reduce risk and improve profits while providing excellent benefits to their employees. Before joining Vinoble in 2020, Barbara worked with a different group benefits broker in Tacoma, Washington after having managed the benefits package for a freight and manufacturing business and serving as Operations and Finance Manager for the State of Michigan with the Insurance Company of North America (INA), (which ultimately merged with CG Aetna to create Cigna). She received her associate degree in accounting from Pierce College. Barbara also volunteers with Compassion International and is part of its advocate team for Washington. She loves to travel and is part of a fiercely competitive Bunco league, but the “league” is comprised of dear friends, so we assume that any general rancor is minimal.
